Project ITC4FLL

ITC4FLL aims at the provision of a permanent structure for collaboration in the field of Foreign Language Learning between Primary and Secondary schools from Cornwall and Castilla y León.

The project is coordinated by the Directorate General for Innovative Education and Teacher Training and Cornwall Council. Both institutions will combine their experience in the field of international programmes to ensure that this collaboration outlasts the time-limits of ITC4FLL.

To achieve this general aim, the project comprises several objectives:

1) The creation of a bilateral commission to reach agreement as to the development of the project.

2) The establishing of a network of twinned Primary Schools involved in Cross Curricular Teaching of Foreign Languages to implement good practice and to test existing language learning materials promoted by previous Comenius funded projects, specifically in the fields of “job-shadowing” and “assistantships”.

3) The establishing of a parallel network of twinned Secondary Schools to exchange good practice in the field of Foreign Language Learning at Secondary level and to back up the before-mentioned network of Primary Schools.

4) The evaluation and updating of existing Virtual Learning Environments in the development of the project.

5) The updating of existing materials and the creation of new ones for the implementation of both “job-shadowing” and “mini-assistantships” as teacher training tools for the promotion of foreign language learning in both regions.

6) The organisation of international celebratory events to disseminate the outcomes of the project and, eventually, to establish a permanent framework for collaboration between both regions in the field of foreign language learning.
